Ever since I can remember as a young child in the beaches of Varadero, Cuba, I was obsessed with the ocean. At the early age of seven, my parents were forced to make the decision of leaving a communist Cuba and head 90 miles north, allowing me to freely explore the oceans above and below.

It all started snorkeling and diving the waters of Miami, Florida, then collecting tropical fishes and selling them to local Aquariums. Thereafter, I became a Miami Seaquarium diver. A fascinating job swimming with Dolphins, sharks, turtles, manatees and a wide array of salt water species in the reef tank. I met my biggest girlfriend yet, Lolita the killer whale. With those large eyes and massive body watching over me in blistering cold 55 degree water, I would make sure her home was always clean and in good working order.

The real change came in 1988 when I moved to Paradise, the Florida Keys. There I continued my fascination for diving, but after I explored the underwater world I began my transition from mask and fins to rod & reels.

I began to fish recreationally bouncing from patch reefs to wrecks,I was catching quality fish without having much experience in fishing, this alone drove me to make the transition to commercial fishing.. Soon I was fishing for yellow tail snappers my favorite,Groupers and a wide variety of species for Human consumption. Many Capts. have a back ground on commercial fishing as there beginning phase. Later move on to Charter Capts,this too was my experience which later allowed me to get my Captain's license which allowed me to operate my charter fishing business that lasted over 15 years.

I enjoyed everyday out on the water with new and old customers and that allowed me to experience how many folks love not only fishing but the nature and peace that our Oceans and nature give us,and this allowed me to move onto my next venture.....

I was approached by a television station to film several fishing shows and air a pilot. The pilot received great feedback, the emails and phone calls I would receive were electrifying. This further reinforced how many folks are passionate about fishing and the Ocean. The love of the viewers motivated us to eventually produce a fishing show, "Pescando en Los Cayos". It was the only Latino based fishing show, and still is after airing for 5 years.

Today PELC or "Fishing in the Keys" is aired by Telemiami and broadcasted on 3 major cable networks allowing for millions of viewers,both Hispanics and every other nationality that enjoys our Ocean,fishing,boats,educational segments,cooking fish etc.. the sceneries and footage attracts and electrifies the audience.
